We have been where you are too… nervous about the unknowns that you know come with visiting a new church for the first time. That is why we have designed this page to be as comprehensive as possible to eliminate the unknown and nerves as you join us for church so that you can focus on Jesus!
Let’s start with the basics. We worship every Sunday morning at 10:15 AM and our church building is located at 2470 Leaman Road Ronks, PA 17572. While our church building is visible from route #896 our church property’s lone entrance is via Leaman Road. (See picture)
As you enter our parking lot on your left you will first see our children’s playground and then our church building. Immediately beside our building is an abundance of ADA accessible parking spaces as well as a drop off lane each for use as needed.
To the right you will see three banks of parking spaces including those spaces closest to the building reserved for visitors and that’s you! Please use those spaces we have reserved for you as our guests!
As you exit your vehicle and begin towards our church building you will see two entrances. The one to the right marked for our Little Lambs Preschool and the entrance to the left that serves as our main entrance. Please use our main entrance on Sunday mornings.
As you pass through our main entrance you will enter into our spacious lobby. There you will find a greeter (and usually Pastor Jesse) to welcome you and answer for you any questions that you might have but let us attempt to answer those questions now.
Where is our sanctuary? If you are in our lobby with your back to the entrance you will see our sanctuary doors to your left. Inside will be friendly faces, scrolling announcements, and quiet background music awaiting you.
What options are there for my kids?
Our nursery is open and staffed each Sunday morning with background checked volunteers ready to care for your children. You will find the nursery down the first hallway on the right side of the lobby. Our nursery is located in the room immediately following our restrooms.
Elementary age children are invited to join us in the sanctuary for our time of musical worship before being given the opportunity to be dismissed to JR Church where background checked volunteers will have age appropriate lessons and activities awaiting them.
Youth: On the second and fourth Sundays our teens are also invited to be with us for musical worship in the sanctuary before they can join their peers in our youth room for age specific fun and faith building.
Note if you or your child prefers staying in the sanctuary to hear the morning’s message we welcome that as well!
Where are the bathrooms? Again with your backs to our entrance doors you will see two hallways to your right. Enter the first hallway and on your immediate right will first be the men’s and then the women’s restrooms.
Where is the coffee? Good question! With your backs to the doors you will find an extension of our lobby to the left and there is a coffee station that you are welcome to help yourself to.
I hope that answers the questions that you might have as you arrive for church… what about when church begins?
When you take your seat you will see announcements scrolling on our video screens and hopefully you grabbed a bulletin. Check them out so you are in the know about what is upcoming at High View.
Within your pew you will see a selection of hymnals and Bibles that you are welcome to use throughout the service.
You will also see something we call our Friendship Folder. It’s a black folder with an attendance sheet that affords you the opportunity to let us know that you joined us and offer name, address, and contact information. Don’t worry we will not spam your inbox. Pastor Jesse just wants the opportunity to send you a note of thanks for joining us.
As the worship service begins Pastor Jesse will call our hearts to worship with a warm greeting and word to help set our minds on Jesus and our service’s theme.
Next we will participate in the musical worship part of our service. At High View Church we practice what we call a blended style of worship where you will hear some of your favorite classic hymns like Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art as well as today’s contemporary worship favorites.
Please worship as you are comfortable. Seated. Standing. Hands raised or hands by your side there is space for you to celebrate your Savior through song during this time.
Once our musical worship is concluded our service master of ceremony will lead us in a time of brief sharing of any important announcements. We will share in a time of congregational prayer and read together the morning’s selection of scripture.
At the conclusion of this time Pastor Jesse will begin the morning’s message. Pastor Jesse practices a form of preaching called expositional preaching which is rooted in a passage of the Bible and for the purpose of not only information but transformation of its hearers in the image and power of Jesus.
One of our core values at High View Church is that we are committed to Biblical truth in our preaching and teaching. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God so our message is anchored in scripture.
In your bulletin you will find Pastor Jesse’s sermon notes to help you follow along and provide a place to jot down anything that stands out to you.
Pastor Jesse normally preaches for about 35 minutes and will always conclude his message with a time of prayer.
As the message closes we will sing one more song of worship which is meant as an opportunity to “respond” to the message that God has laid upon your heart.
Following our closing song Pastor Jesse will close the service with a prayer of blessing upon us as we leave worship and enter into our next week.
Following the conclusion of worship you are welcome to stick around and chat or leave right away but Pastor Jesse will be greeting in the lobby and love to meet you.
Further questions: If there are any questions that you have that we have left unanswered or you just want to let Pastor Jesse know that you are planning to join us in worship… send him an email at jesse.bills88@gmail.com
We will see you Sunday!
